The long range shot upgrade is pretty invaluable in stage 3 for the slug head things, but the fire special is so useful I never get the water one you seem to need to get at some gold/orbs. As fun as it is wow there's some shit hitboxes. Finding new ways to break the bosses is great - I was struggling with this one guillotine boss until I found you can just stand behind it and its bullets just pass through you without hurting at all.
